"To some blind souls all cats are much alike. To a cat lover every cat from the beginning of time has been utterly and amazingly unique."

A "Love" Story

This is a story about an amazing cat named “Love”. Love showed up at Kelly and Timmy’s house one day, as so many homeless cats and kittens have before him. He was a very friendly, healthy appearing, unneutered male cat that wanted to come in the house. Kelly called Friends of Felines (FOF), as she had in the past, to find out if we could do a rescue. In the short time that it took Kelly and FOF to make the arrangements, Love disappeared. We thought that Love had found another home.

Love was gone for five days. Kelly called and looked for Love each day. On day five Love answered Kelly’s call with his meow. Kelly followed the meow and found Love behind the pool on her property. A paw on his front leg was hanging from his leg with bone exposed. Love was rushed to the vet for an exam and Kelly was told that the leg had to be amputated. We speculated that someone had a trap set that Love stepped into with his front leg.

The Calvert Well Pet Clinic was contacted and Dr. Herb Yee agreed to perform the surgery for Love. Love had his front leg removed on November 22, 2011. The surgery took three hours. Later that same day Love was walking on his three legs like he had been born that way.

Love has been a “love” throughout his entire ordeal. He still purrs and talks like before his injury. He never once in all of his pain tried to bite or scratch anyone. Love has captured the hearts of everyone that he has met with his sweet nature and brave spirit. He is recovering from his surgery at Kelly and Timmy’s and then will be looking for his “furever” home. Please contact FOF if you would be interested in having some Love in your life.

Pet Sitting

I am very excited to announce that I have started a Pet Sitting/Walking Service, called WAGS N’ PURRFECTION.

If you are planning to travel for the holidays, think about hiring a professional pet sitter and let your pet stay home in a comfortable, familiar environment - your own home!!! WAGS N’ PURRFECTION is now pre-booking services for November and December. Please do not delay so you can ensure that your animals are happy and safe while you’re away.

I am bonded and a member of Pets Sitters International.

Sincerely,

Bonnie Hanold
